Found in the Indian Ocean, this lush archipelago is located in the waters of the Mozambique Channel. It is also considered to be one of the smallest countries in the world. The Islands have control over a domain that includes many territorial seas. Climate wise, people can expect tropical weather; the country also has two distinct seasons, marked by the level of rain. Temperatures average around 29-30 °C, which is 84-86 °F, in March. March happens to be the hottest month in the rainy season. This abundantly wet season lasts from December to April. The average low, which is 19 °C, or 66 °F, is found in the dryer season, which lasts from May to November. Devastating cyclones do not occur often, but the island is subject to their rages once-in-a-while during “cyclone season.”

Due to the heat and humidity, one should always pack clothes accordingly. The rainy season necessitates items that are impermeable to water, in addition to the light, breathable clothes one should already pack. If one is headed to the mountainous regions, one should pack heavier wear, especially considering the lower temperatures.
